Easter events plentiful in Goshen County

GOSHEN COUNTY – On the hunt for Easter events in Goshen County? Look no further. From egg hunts, to parties, to breakfasts, and everything in between, the Telegram has compiled a basketful of festive area activities.

Events are as follows, in order of date:

n LaGrange-Bear Creek Unity Library’s Easter egg hunt is Saturday, April 13, 1:30 p.m., in the large City Park by the Fire Hall for toddlers through sixth grade. Age groups will be separated. New grand prizes. Parents may assist toddlers. Bunny snacks and Story Time will follow. If the weather is bad, the hunt will be at the library. LGBC Unity Library, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 70, and Kiwanis of Goshen County sponsor this event.

n Easter Cantata: Body of Christ is the title of the upcoming Community Easter Cantata. Written by Pepper Choplin, performances are scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, April 14 and 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, at First Wyoming Presbyterian Church, 2972 Main St., in Torrington. An additional performance will be at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, at Lifeway Church, 1341 E M St., in Torrington.

Narrators for the Cantata this year will be Julie Newman and Grant Jones. Joyce Willeke will direct the Cantata choir. All performances are free and open to the public.

n The Lingle Volunteer Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 20, 10:30 a.m., at Whipple Park, for children under the age of 12.

n The Cottonwood Country Club Easter for the Kids is back, Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m. Bring the kids, grandkids out to have lunch, decorate cookies and games. Have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Please RSVP to conimeier@embarqmail.com by Friday, April 12.

n The KGOS/KERM and Kiwanis Easter egg hunt is Saturday, April 20, 1 p.m. at Pioneer Park in Torrington.

n The Fort Laramie Volunteer Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m. in Fort Laramie North Park; four age groups: 0-2; 3-5; 6-8; 9-12, with first and second prizes awarded. There will also be prize eggs worth $0.25.

n The South Goshen Community Church in Yoder is hosting an Easter egg hunt in the Yoder park Saturday, April 20, at 6 p.m., for ages 0-4, 5-8 and 9-10. After the hunt, the movie “The Ultimate Gift” will be shown at the church. Everyone is welcome.  

n Easter Sunrise Service at Fort Laramie National Historic Site on Sunday, April 21, 6:30 a.m. Bring lawn chairs and blankets.

n Fort Laramie Volunteer Fire Department Easter Breakfast on Sunday, April 21, 7 to 11 a.m. at the Fort Laramie Community Center. Come enjoy a free breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, or just enjoy a cup of coffee with us. Free-will donations help fund future community events and firefighter safety.
