Secretary for the Goshen County Chapter of the Wyoming State Historical Society, Vickie Zimmer, presents local author John Nesbitt with the award for first place in the fiction category of the Wyoming Writer’s competition for his book “Great Lonesome.” Nesbitt said this is the fourth time he has won the award. Mayor Bill Matthews of Van Tassell talked to the Goshen County Chapter of the Wyoming State Historical Society about the lively history of the town. Although the population is around 20 today, Matthews said the town had up to 700 people with many thriving businesses.
