TORRINGTON – Helen Luella Scott, 89, of Torrington passed away on March 30, 2017.
Services will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 29, 2017. All whose lives were touched by Helen are welcome to attend.
Helen was born in Yoder on July 12, 1927, to Walter and Louise Gurney. She grew up in Torrington and graduated from Torrington High School.
Helen married Don Scott of Torrington on Aug. 18, 1946.
Helen had a great love of music and gardening, both of which she cherished throughout her life. Helen assisted with management and bookkeeping for the successful family business, Don Scott Plumbing and Heating.
She also attended several churches for many years and found strength through her faith.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband Don E. Scott; two sons, David E. Scott and Stephen D, Scott; parents Walter and Louise Gurney, and; brothers Van Gurney and Dwight Gurney.
She is survived by grandchildren, Brian Scott of Dallas, Texas, Kevin Scott of Sonoma, Calif., and Shawn Scott of Denver, Colo. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Blake Scott and Lucas Scott both of Sonoma, Calif.
Our family is grateful to all those who loved and were loved by Helen.
