TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Helen L. Meininger, 88, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Wayland officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. 

Helen, of Greeley, Colo., formerly of Torrington, went to be with the Lord on Saturday Dec. 8, 2018. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. 

Helen was born June 6, 1930, in Lyman, Neb., to Earl Kit Carson and Irene Violet Culp and was a loving sister to two brothers Chuck and Fred Carson. Helen married her true love John Edward Meininger on Dec. 23, 1953. They had two daughters and resided in Wyoming. 

Helen was an interwoven in the fabric of the community, a servant attribute, loyal neighbor and friend. She attended Chadron State College and received her teaching degree. She taught for 24 years and played a large role in the school programs through out Huntley and Torrington. 

She will be remembered for her kind words, master abilities at crossword puzzles, piano skills, friendship, love and support. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, sharing stories of family fun on the farm, famous family recipes and words of wisdom.

Helen is survived by daughters Sandra Jack and Cindy Evans; son-in-law Charles Jack; five grandchildren; and six great-. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister.
