TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Helen J. Gorr, 97, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington with Pastor Scott Firminhac officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. 

Helen died May 20, 2021, at Monument Rehabilitation and Care Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Monument Rehabilitation and Care Center or donor’s choice. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service. Helen was born July 4, 1923, in Wellington, Colorado the daughter of George and Eva (Foos) Blehm. She grew up and received her education in Windsor, Colorado. She married Fred “Fritz” Gorr Jr. in St James Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on April 28, 1940. They farmed in the Mitchell Valley for many years before moving to Lingle in 1959, where they farmed until retiring in 1975 and moving to Torrington. Fritz died in January of 2001. Helen continued to live in Torrington until 2016 when she entered the Monument Rehabilitation and Care Center. 

Helen enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cooking, baking, gardening, fishing, visiting, canning and spending time with family. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. 

Helen is survived by her daughter Geraldine “Geri” Ehler; grandson Calvin (Denise) Ehler; sister Emma Guettler; great-grandchildren Brandy, Tristyn, Candon (Ashleigh), Colton (Candace), Connor (Sergio); and great-great-grandchildren LaShae, Ashley, Behr, Dash, Parker, Grady, Flinnt and Kayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Eva Blehm; her husband Fritz Gorr; a son-in-law Gary Ehler; a grandson Kip Ehler; five sisters Marta Blehm, Lydia Foos, Millie Ruff, Pauline Kindsfater and Alma Munroe; six brothers-in-law; four brothers Herbert, Hubert, Edwin and Harold Blehm; four sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
