Health Thyme celebrates clinic grand opening

TORRINGTON – Torrington now has a holistic health care facility.

Health Thyme is a restorative health care clinic and a health and nutrition store located on West 22nd Avenue. Its owner, Nona Kindsvater, has been helping clients in the community with health challenges using natural methods for roughly three years. On Sept. 19, Kindsvater finally welcomed family, friends, community members and clients into her space.

“We have the ability to be healthy without poisoning our bodies,” Kindsvater said. “We have the ability to address health issues without being dependent for the rest of our lives on pharmaceuticals.”

Using holistic methods, Kindsvater has treated her own autoimmune disease that doctors were unable to diagnose. Others who have benefited from these treatments spoke prior to the ribbon cutting, including State Sen. Cheri Steinmetz (R-Lingle) whose grandson, Riker, has Down syndrome.

Prior to Kindsvater’s treatment, Riker lacked energy and was at times “lethargic,” Steinmetz said.

“Now he’s crawling all over, about ready to walk, crawling up on the kitchen table and we can hardly keep up with him,” she said. “We’re so thankful. Nothing could be more precious to us and seeing him blossom.”

For Kindsvater and her small staff, treating community members is personal.

“When we treat people, it is literally 10 o’clock text messages. ‘I need help.’ ‘I’m scared,’” Kindsvater said. “So it becomes very personal and we have these amazing results.”

Now that the red ribbon is cut, those interested can visit Health Thyme and visit the store, spa and clinic during their business hours, Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
