Harold L. Prickett

TORRINGTON – Grave side services for Harold L. Prickett, 89, will be held at a later date in the Valley View Cemetery with military honors by the Wyoming Army National Guard. 

Harold died June 27, 2019, at his home in Sheridan, Wyo. and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Torrington Senior Friendship Center. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.

Harold was born October 9, 1929, in Lyman, Neb., the son of Zelmer and Nettie (Abel) Prickett. He grew up and received his education in the western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming area. 

He entered the US Army in December of 1950 and was discharged in December of 1952. He married Gladys Bremer on May 8, 1951. 

After his discharge he started work for the Wyoming Army National Guard in Guernsey, Wyo. He worked there for 30 years. He retired and then volunteered at the Torrington Senior Friendship Center, driving their transport vans and helping to coordinate their annual garage sale. Gladys died in 2010 and he moved to Sheridan in 2015.

Harold enjoyed rock collecting and tinkering on anything and everything. He was a member of the American Legion Travis Snow Post #5.

Harold is survived by two sons, Gene (Patti) Prickett of Sheridan, Wyo. and Rick Prickett of San Diego, Cali.;  brother, Jack Prickett of Scottsbluff, Neb.; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers; and two sisters.
