GOSHEN COUNTY – Students from Goshen County will represent the area in March at the Wyoming State Science Fair, based on results from the regional fair held recently in Cheyenne.
A total of 38 students from four Goshen County schools took 26 projects to the regional fair, held over the Jan. 25 weekend at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Cheyenne. Of those, 20 students with 12 projects placed in the top three at the regional level, earning them nominations for the state event, set for March 1 to 3 on the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie.
“Congratulations goes out to not only the place finishers, but all of the science fair participants for a job well done,” said Roger Spears, an instructional facilitator for Goshen County schools and science instructor at Torrington High School.
Spears also serves as regional science fair coordinator for southeast Wyoming. There remains extra paperwork and registration to accomplish, which could earn those nominated invitations to the state competition, he said.
