LARAMIE – Three Goshen County students were among the recipients of scholarships from the Wyoming 4-H Foundation recently.
Hailie Knight, William Howell and Kassidy McClun were among the more than 40 Wyoming 4-H’ers earning scholarships from the foundation this year.
Knight received a continuing Ella E. Schloredt scholarship. Awards ranged from $1,000 to $2,000, with $1,700 going to first-time Schloredt Scholarship recipients.
To continue receiving the scholarship annual for as much as four years, recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average and meet academic progress standards. This year, 19 continuing scholarships were awarded, along with five, first-time awards.
Howell was the recipient of a $1,000 award from the Farmhouse Foundation. McClun was the recipient of a $1,250 scholarship from Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply.
In total, the foundation presented more than $62,000 in scholarship money to students planning to attend a Wyoming Community College or the University of Wyoming next year. Some $31,000 was presented to first-time scholarship recipients this year, said Steve Mack, 4-H Foundation
