TORRINGTON – The University of Wyoming Extension Service in Goshen County and the Goshen County Master Gardeners will host the annual Giant Pumpkin Contest again this year at the Goshen County Fairgrounds.
Check-in for entries kicks off at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, with weigh-in immediately following, at the Frontier Shelter at the fairgrounds in Torrington. But head out early, because members of the Goshen County 4-H Horse Judging Team will host a fundraising bake sale, starting at 11 a.m., with proceeds benefiting their trip to national competition in Ohio during the National Quarter Horse Congress later this month.
In addition to the giant pumpkins, the event will host a pumpkin decorating contest, with divisions for both adults and children. The Extension Service and Master Gardeners will supply pumpkins and decorating supplies for the contest, and prizes will be offered for the best-decorated pumpkins.
