TORRINGTON – George M. Smith, 77, of Torrington died Sept. 12 in Cheyenne.
Tribute will be given by the Torrington Moose Lodge at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 followed by a Celebration of Life for both parents. Friends of family welcome. Burial with be at a later date in Michigan.
He was born October 26, 1939 in Niles, Michigan.
George was a member of the Moose Lodge and had worked as a security officer and also for Orrison Distribution and Budweiser before retiring.
He is survived by his children, Patrice (Douglas) Heyl of Torrington; Michael (Sabrina) Smith of Gladstone, Mo., grandchildren, Christopher (Alexandra) Heyl of Paris, France, and their son, Liam (great grandson), Anthony Heyl and Alex Heyl, both of Torrington, Sasha Angier, and Ayla Parker, Christian Smith, Serenity Smith, all of Gladstone. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hedwig Smith, his sister Lois Simpson, his daughter, Kimberly Smith and his grandson, Stefan Heyl.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Services will be at a later date in Benton Harbor, Mich.
