TORRINGTON – Eastern Wyoming College GEAR UP student Autumn Zulauf was nominated and selected to the National GEAR UP Youth Leadership Summit program in Washington, D.C.
Autumn traveled with EWC GEAR UP Director, Judy Brown, to Washington, D.C. in July and represented EWC GEAR UP, GEAR UP Wyoming and the state. The Youth Leadership Summit helps GEAR UP high school students identify and maximize their leadership skills, create a national network of peers and receive the tools and training to make positive change happen in their communities and around the world.
Over the three-day Summit, the YLS enhances participants’ ability to speak confidently, work effectively in teams, and builds their capacity to lead. In turn, the YLS students then use these skills to serve their schools and communities. They share what they learned with other GEAR UP students become an active mentor, support, and advocate for college access and success in coordination with the EWC GEAR UP program.
Autumn graduated from Torrington High School and will be attending Eastern Wyoming College in the fall.
