GILLETTE – The Torrington High School boys’ indoor track and field team wrapped up its indoor season on Saturday at the Campbell County Rec Center Field House in Gillette.
In a move as a result of COVID-19, the indoor state track and field championships were split into two weekends, with the boys on Saturday and the girls’ events taking place on Saturday, March 6.
The Blazers finished 10th as a team, scoring 10 points. Sheridan High School won the team title with 142 points, while Cheyenne Central was second with 67. Natrona County was third with 58.
Kyland Fuller was the lone representative for the Torrington team at the event, and Fuller scored a win in his only event, the 800-meter run.
He completed the race the race in 2 minutes, 3.17 seconds, defeating Reese Charest of Sheridan, who finished second in 2:04.21.
The attention now turns to the outdoor track and field for the boys’ teams. Practice is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 8 with the first allowable contest set for March 18.
