TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Frieda Rose Foos, 95, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kate Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Frieda died Jan. 7, 2018, at Goshen Healthcare Community. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the First Wyoming Presbyterian Church Scholarship Education Fund. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and the casket will be open briefly prior to the service at the church. Frieda was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Scottsbluff, Neb., the daughter of Alex Sander and Mary (Frick) Rohrick. She married George Fred Foos on Dec. 17, 1939, in Lyman, Neb. They lived in various places before settling in Huntley, where they farmed and ranched for 47 years before retiring and moving to Torrington. George died in 1994.

Frieda enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, reading, flower and vegetable gardening and making choke berry jelly, syrup and wine. She was a member of the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder, the Presbyterian Women, Huntley Auxiliary where she served in all offices, the Goshen County Cattlewomen and served as a 4-H leader in home beautification.

Frieda is survived by her son Larry (Sherlin) Foos of Torrington; sister Darline Hartley of Russellville, Ark.; sister-in-law Ruth (Foos) Baelek of Sheridan; daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Foos of Huntley; five grandsons; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; six nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George; a son Jack; two brothers Raymond and LeRoy Rohrick; and a sister Gladys Dunten.
