SHERIDAN – The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer rodeo team traveled to Sheridan to compete in the annual Sheridan College rodeo Sept. 24-26.
Freshman Justin Chasek, Mitchell, Nebraska, won the first round of the team roping with a time of 5.7 seconds with partner Jake Chasek of Chadron State College.
In the tie down roping, freshman Ty Moser, Volga, South Dakota, finished second in the first round with a time of 9.3 seconds.
“Each week we have had new freshmen finding a way to win,” said Coach Jake Clark. “I’m excited about this team.”
As a team, the Lancers finished sixth with 120 points. The University of Wyoming won the team title with 880 points. Sheridan College was second with 475, while Casper College was third with 325.
The Lancers will compete in the Central Wyoming College rodeo in Riverton Oct. 1-3.
