‘Frenzy’ offers free FAFSA help

TORRINGTON – Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a vital step in getting help to pay for college. By attending one of the Financial Aid Frenzy’s in Torrington, students and families can get free, expert help in filling out this important form.
Financial Aid Frenzy will have two sessions, one from 3 – 5 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 1 – 5 p.m. on Oct. 6, at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington. College-bound students must complete the FAFSA to qualify for federal financial aid, as well as some types of state aid, scholarships and grants offered by many colleges, universities and vocational/technical schools. FAFSA assistance is available to any student wanting to attend any college. All are welcome to attend this event.

Students 23 years of age or younger should attend the Financial Aid Frenzy with at least one parent and bring their parents’ and their own completed 2016 IRS tax returns, W-2 forms, and other 2016 income, asset and benefits information. Students 24 years of age or older may attend and bring their – and their spouses, if applicable – own completed 2016 tax returns, W-2 forms, and other 2016 income, asset and benefits information.
All necessary materials, including pens, pencils, calculators and computers to complete the FAFSA will be provided. This event is free and open to anyone seeking
assistance.
