TORRINGTON – A funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Frances P. Reyes, 91, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at Saint Rose Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Saint Rose Catholic Church.
A rosary/wake will be recited on Tuesday at the church at 6 p.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and the casket will be open during the rosary. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Frances died at her home on Feb. 15, 2018.
Frances was born Oct. 4, 1926, in McClave, Colo., the daughter of Genaro and Catalina (Roman) Palato. She grew up in Colorado and moved with her family to Huntley when she was 10. She attended school at Huntley.
She married George Reyes on Sept. 28, 1944, in Torrington. The couple lived in Sunrise until 1947, when they moved to Torrington.
Frances enjoyed embroidery, growing flowers, cooking and baseball, especially the Colorado Rockies and the New York Yankees. She was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church and the Guadalupe Society.
Frances is survived by seven children: Regina Flores of Torrington, George (Ecil) Reyes of Torrington, Louis Reyes of Gering, Neb., Kathleen Reyes of Torrington, Richard (Becky) Reyes of Torrington, Raymond (Beverly) Reyes of San Antonio, Texas, and Patricia Reyes of Torrington; a sister, Alice Carabajal of Torrington; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; four infant children; and one granddaughter.
