TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Frances L. Geisick, 94, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ron Nusswarren officiating. Frances died Feb. 13, 2018, at Welcov Assisted Living Community in Scottsbluff, Neb., and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Eastern Wyoming College Performing Arts Program.

Fran was born Dec. 29, 1923, in Scottsbluff, the daughter of Rufus and Mildred (Voigt) Gates. She grew up and received her early education in Scottsbluff. The family moved to Torrington in 1937 and she graduated from Torrington High School. She then attended Business College in Denver, Colo.
After college she worked for Gates Rubber Company, the Boy Scouts of American and Burlington Bus Company. She married Ronald Geisick on April 14, 1946, and they lived in Torrington. She worked as the secretary/treasurer for the Wyoming State American Legion Auxiliary and was a homemaker.
Ron died in 2007. Fran entered the Welcov community in 2012.
Fran enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and lawn work. She volunteered as the church treasurer for 15 years and help start the Alzheimer Support Group in Torrington. She was a member of five bridge clubs, the church circle and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was the first female appointed to the Wyoming draft board.
Fran is survived by three daughters Linda (Fred) Mai of Gering, Neb., Cony (Bill) Brienza of St. John, New Brunswick, Canada and Nancy Roth of Henderson, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers Merrill Gates and Walter Gates.
