LaGrange Volunteer Firefighters Konnor Harves, Erin Johnson, Lucinda and John Goold and Nathan Justus accept checks totaling $840 on Thursday from the students at LaGrange Elementary School. The students raised the money with a Penny War, with students bringing in change and folding money to earn points – or detract points from a competing classroom – as they competed for a movie and popcorn party for the class with the most points. Early returns indicate Sheryl Spears fourth, fifth and sixth grade class raised the most money and they plan to invite the rest of the students to their party for helping out.
