Neighbors use garden hoses to protect the house as a garage burns in the background Saturday morning in Lingle. Greg Christoffersen, a neighbor, said he heard an explosion in the garage at the home of Goshen County Sheriff’s Sgt. Kory Fleenor, went to the home and discovered the scene. On Monday, Fleenor said a neighbor woke him up shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday, helping to spray water on the house due to the heat of the fire. There were no injuries, he said, but the garage was deemed a total loss. “Even the metal in there - it was so hot, it’s just warped,” Fleenor said. “From what I’ve seen so far, probably nothing is salvageable.”
