Fire ban changed to partial

GOSHEN COUNTY – With the end of the solar eclipse events, the Goshen County Commissioners have authorized lifting a full fire ban, which has been in effect since Aug. 15, changing the classification to a partial ban.
According to a press release from county Fire Warden Bill Law, controlled burns on private lands are permitted during a partial fire ban, but are not recommended. The responsibility for maintaining control during a burn rests on the land owner and the requirement to advise the law enforcement dispatch center of any planned burns remains in effect.
Fire danger in the county remains high due to continued dry conditions, the release stated. Lighting of fireworks and most types of outdoor burning remain prohibited on state and private land during a partial ban.
