Fair officials seek community input

DOUGLAS – Officials from the Wyoming State Fair will be in Torrington next month as part of a statewide listening session tour to gather community input on the annual event.
The local session is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in the meeting room at the Goshen County Fairgrounds in Torrington. State Fair staff, along with representatives of the Fair Advisory Board and state Board of Agriculture, will be in attendance.
“We strive to provide the best Fair possible each year by focusing on youth competition, family friendly entertainment, and affordable prices,” said James Goodrich, Director of the Wyoming State Fair. “Our goal is to come away from these sessions with a better understanding of what citizens, and especially attendees/participants of the Wyoming State Fair find important so we can continue to provide the best service we can to fairgoers.”
Listening sessions are designed to hear thoughts, ideas and concerns from residents regarding the future of the fair. The goal is a better understanding of priorities for the fair in difficult financial times.
All sessions are open to the public. Residents are encouraged to attend and share their ideas.
