CASPER – Eastern Wyoming College’s Karissa Rayhill was the All-Around Champion Cowgirl at the Ropin’ and Riggin’ Days Rodeo hosted by Casper College held April 14-16.
Rayhill, sophomore, Martin, South Dakota, was fifth in the long go of the goat tying. She won the short go and ended up second in the average with a time of 13.2 seconds. In the barrel racing, she was fourth in the long go and placed sixth in the average in 29.32 seconds.
Rayhill scored 170 points for the weekend.
EWC’s Hanna Huffman, sophomore, Burwell, Nebraska, tied for sixth in goat typing in the long go and tied for fifth in the short go. Huffman ended the weekend sixth in the average in 14.2 seconds.
The Lady Lancers finished fourth in the team standings with 197.5 points. The University of Wyoming won the team title with 282.5 points.
In the calf roping, EWC’s Colton Zimmerman, freshman, Wellington, Colorado, was second in the long go and sixth in the short go. Zimmerman split third and fourth in the average in 20.2 seconds.
In steer wrestling, Donald Quick III, sophomore, Craig Colorad, was fifth in the long go, he had some tough luck in the short go and did not place.
Bridger Amiotte, sophomore, Wall, South Dakota, was 10th in the long go and third in the short go of the steer wrestling. He placed fourth in the average in 18.1 seconds.
The Lancer men finished eighth in the final team standings with 165 points. The University of Wyoming won the team title with 790 points.
EWC wraps up the season at the University of Wyoming rodeo April 27-29.
