EWC volleyball moves into NJCAA rankings

TORRINGTON – Late Monday afternoon, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released the latest volleyball rankings after the first weekend of the season.

Coming off a 3-1 weekend with wins over then No. 17 Western Nebraska Community College and then No. 11 Otero Junior College, the Eastern Wyoming College Lady Lancer volleyball team finds itself ranked No. 16 in the nation.

The Lady Lancers are one of three Region IX teams in the top 20, joining Western Nebraska, who moved up to No. 12 after a 3-1 weekend, as well as Northeastern Junior College, who is ranked No. 9 after a 3-0 weekend.

Eastern Wyoming is back in action this weekend at the Laramie County Community College Invite. The Lady Lancers will face Central Community College-Columbus at 3 p.m. and Trinidad State Junior College at 7 p.m. on Friday. The next day, they will face Hutchinson Community College at 10 a.m.
