EWC schedules employee survey as part of planning

TORRINGTON – Eastern Wyoming College recently contracted with the “Great Colleges to Work For” survey partnership between the Chronicle of Higher Education and ModernThink to prepare and deliver an employee survey.
The purpose of the survey is to assess employees’ perceptions of the College culture and climate with specific emphasis in four areas: communications, transparency, senior leadership, and direction of the College.
“As a new president I think it is very important to obtain some baseline data to find out how we are doing as an employer and as a college. I am interested in hearing opinions, perspectives, attitudes and perceptions of EWC so that we can improve the employment opportunities for our faculty and staff and the learning environment for our students,” said Dr. Lesley Travers, EWC President. “It provides EWC with an opportunity to develop sensible decisions based upon analyzed results.”
College employees will access the online, anonymous, and confidential survey instrument in mid-March 2018 and will have four weeks to participate in the survey. President Travers will announce the survey results in early May 2018 at an all employee meeting.
EWC Director of Human Resources, Edward Meyer, said the most recent EWC employee survey, completed around 2009, focused on diversity and inclusivity. The college has not completed a climate and culture survey in three or more decades
“It’s been eight years since the last survey, and we’ll do another one next year,” Travers said. “We’ll find out where we are in enrollment, up or down, and based on all this data, make future decisions.”
