EWC rodeo team kicks off season at Chadron State

CHADRON, Neb. – The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer rodeo team began the fall season with a rodeo in Chadron hosted by Chadron State College.

Sophomore Ty Bass finished fifth in the team roping with partner Ellie Bard from Gillette College. The team placed fifth in the first round with a time of 7.8 seconds, fifth in the short round with a time of 14 seconds and finished fifth in the average.

In the bull riding, sophomore Brett McAbee qualified for the short round with a first-round score of 65.

The Lancers will compete in Cheyenne, Sept. 18-20. The annual Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo hosted by Laramie County Community College will be held at Frontier Park.
