LAMAR, Colo. – The Eastern Wyoming College golf team competed in Lamar, Colorado Sept. 30-Oct. 1 and won the two-day tournament with a score of 559. McCook Community College finished 2nd with a score of 571.
“The guys played great both days to get a huge win. It felt really good, all the guys played well to get a team win and a tie for the individual win between Russel (Spechner) and Brendan (Thomas),” EWC head coach Zach Smith said. “Every tournament in the region this year is going to be tight, so we need to bring it both days like we did this week if we want to win the Region IX championship again this year. The guys know that, and we are working hard to keep things going. We are excited to try and finish the season strong in La Junta (Colorado) next week.”
