SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – After a first-round loss to Western Nebraska Community College on Wednesday afternoon, the Eastern Wyoming College Lady Lancers battled back through the consolation side of the bracket to reach the final game of the Region IX Tournament on Saturday.
EWC picked up wins over McCook (Nebraska) Community College on Thursday and Northwest College on Friday, setting up a rematch with Western Nebraska on Saturday morning.
On Thursday, the Lady Lancers picked up a 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-13 sweep of McCook.
On Friday, Eastern Wyoming eliminated Northwest College from the tournament with a 3-1 (25-15, 20-25, 25-10, 25-19) victory.
The next day, the Lady Lancers advanced to the Northwest Plains B Championship game, defeating the WNCC Lady Cougars 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19.
In Saturday afternoon’s title match, Central Wyoming College ended the Lady Lancer run with a 25-15, 25-21, 25-18 loss.
No stats were available at press time from the matches.
Eastern Wyoming’s season ends with a 15-14 record.
