EWC concludes fall rodeo season in Lamar

LAMAR, Colo. – The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer rodeo wrapped up the fall season of rodeos in Lamar, Colorado Oct. 8-10.

Karissa Rayhill continues to earn points each weekend in her events. In the barrel racing, she was second in the first round, fourth in the short round and finished third in the average. In the goat tying, she tied for second in the first round.

Rayhill finished third in the weekend’s all-around standings with 165 points.

As a team, the Lady Lancers finsihed fifth with 165 points. Northeastern Junior College won the team title with 277.5, while Gillette College was second with 230 points.

Sophomore Tristan Hunter, Ardmore, South Dakota, and team roping partner Ty Moser, freshman, Volga, South Dakota, were fifth in the first round and third in the short round. They ended the weekend placing second in the team roping average.

As a team, the Lady Lancers scored 220 points to place seventh. The University of Wyoming won the team title with 885 points. Casper College was second with 810.

The Lancers will begin their spring season March 18-20, 2022 in Gillette. They will host the Lancer rodeo March 25-27.
