EWC alum returns to practice orthodontics

TORRINGTON – For Dr. Nathan Moeller, orthodontics isn’t just about straightening teeth, but improving the way patients feel about themselves.

“It’s kind of a neat field in dentistry work,” said Dr. Moeller, who practices at Webb Orthodontics at 211 E 20th Ave. in Torrington. “It combines a lot of the different sciences – there’s the dental side of it, and then there’s the physics side … one fun part is being able to see the changes you can see in someone’s smile – not only physical changes, but differences in the way they feel about themselves and their self-confidence.

“Over the course of treatment, we not only see those physical changes, but total changes in their personality,” he added.

Dr. Moeller grew up in Colorado Springs, Colo. and played basketball for Eastern Wyoming College from 1996 through 1998, under coach Bob Davis. He met his wife, Lena, while here, and the couple has now been married 20 years and has two children, Sydney and Chase. Dr. Moeller also attended the University of Wyoming and has prior experience in private practice, in addition to work as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine – Department of Orthodontics, where he trained both dental and orthodontic residents.

“With a strong background in academics, Dr. Moeller values continuing education and therefore makes it a priority to stay on top of the latest advancements in orthodontics,” a Webb Orthodontics press release reads. “In turn, he is able to provide the best treatment experience, and strongest, most functional outcome possible for patients.”

Calling teaming up with Dr. Sami Webb “a good fit”, Dr. Moeller said the practice is happy to provide a local office for residents here.

“At Webb Orthodontics, (we) combine a unique blend of experience and modern, leading edge treatment methods to create a personalized treatment plan for each and every patient whether a child, teen or adult,” according to the press release. “Dr. Webb, Dr. Moeller and their team of dedicated orthodontic professionals are always available for your care and they are committed to creating beautiful smiles throughout the region.”

Webb Orthodontics, with 15 years under its belt in western Nebraska (with offices in Scottsbluff, Alliance, Sidney and Chadron), opened up branches in Torrington and Cheyenne last fall.

“We offer free consultations,” Dr. Moeller said, explaining children should see an orthodontist around age 7. “In an ideal world, everything’s great … but a lot of times, we can head off future problems by addressing them early.”

When he’s not working, Dr. Moeller enjoys spending time with family, basketball, golf, hiking, fishing and lake sports, along with being an active member of the community.

In the office, he looks forward to interacting with patients and helping improve their lives – one smile at a time.

“You spend a year-and-a-half or two years with them (over the course of treatment),” Dr. Moeller said. “You see those changes, and you learn what’s going on in their lives.”
