TORRINGTON –  Evelyn Mae Todorovich, 79, died at home Aug. 10, 2017. Cremation has taken place. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
A Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m., Sept. 9, at the Rendezvous Center on the Goshen County Fairgrounds in Torrington with Pastor Tom Walker officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Angel Horses, Billings, Mont., or to Goshen County FFA and 4-H.
Evelyn was born March 31, 1938 in Newcastle, the daughter of Richard and Eva (Walter) Updike. She grew up in the Osage and Newcastle area.
She married Bob Townsend and they were later divorced. She married Charlie Garhart and they moved to a ranch north of Ft. Laramie in 1969. She ranched there while her husband worked for True Oil Company. Charlie died in 1997 and she continued to run the ranch for 10 years. She married Stan Todorovich in 2004 and continued to work the ranch. They sold the ranch in 2006 and built a new home south of Torrington and raised Morgan horses.
Evelyn enjoyed fishing, traveling, boating and served as a sponsor for FFA and 4-H. Among other things she was involved in Angel Horses out of Billings, Mont., and started the Rabbit Program at St. Joseph Children’s Home. She loved the outdoors.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Stan Todorovich of Torrington; children, Emily Townsend-Hill of Rapid City, S.D., Tina Carlin of Mitchell, Neb., Dick Townsend of Gillette and Penny Clark of Wheatland; a granddaughter Samantha Twiford of Wheatland; a sister Arlene of Upton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son Dave; and a sister.
