LINGLE – Memorial services for Ethel Marie Freouf, 83, will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
Ethel died at her home on July 5, 2017 and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Lingle-Fort Laramie Boys and Girls basketball teams. The Colyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Ethel was born Aug. 28, 1933, in Wheatland, the daughter of Earl and Dessie Mae (Ireland) Field. She grew up and received her education in Fort Laramie. She married Clifford Freouf on July 29, 1951, in Fort Laramie. She lived her whole life in the Lingle-Fort Laramie area. She worked at Holly Sugar Corporation and their experiment farm for eight years and later babysat her grandchildren and was a homemaker.
Ethel enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was a member of the Job’s Daughters and served as Bethel Guardian for Job’s Daughters.
Ethel is survived by her children Betty Skinner of Lingle, Roger Freouf of Torrington, Brent Freouf of Pine Bluffs and Melissa (Bill) Baker of Fort Laramie; a sister Mary Ellen Whiteman of Sterling, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clifford Freouf; two brothers; one grandchild; one daughter-in-law, Donna Freouf; and two best friends (almost sisters).
