PHOENIX, Ariz. – Torrington’s Caleigh Essert competed in the girls’ 15-18-year-old division at the Antigua Milt Coggins tournament in Phoenix, taking second.
“I thought I played great,” Essert said. “I don’t have any bad thoughts about how I played. I did great.”
Essert started the three-day tournament with a 76, putting her in first at the end of the day by two strokes. On the second day, she shot a 77 at the Encanto Golf Club and ended with a two-day score of 153. Heading into the final day, Essert led the field by one stroke.
