TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Eric D. Reifschneider, 54, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Another service will follow at the Moose Lodge #664 in Torrington.
Eric died at Community Hospital in Torrington on May 22, 2017. In lieu of flowers memorials in Eric’s honor may be made to the Moose Lodge. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
Eric was born March 16, 1963, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Jack E. And Claire (Duncan) Reifschneider. He was baptized in April 1963 at the United Church of Christ in Lyman, Neb. He was confirmed on Dec. 19, 1976 at Holy Apostle Episcopal Church in Mitchell, Neb.
Eric graduated from Morrill High School in 1981, where he excelled in both track and football. He was a long time dedicated employee of the Holly and Western Sugar Companies. He also worked as a grounds-keeper at Scenic Knolls Golf Course in Mitchell, where he was able to pursue his passion for the game of golf.
He was an avid football fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Wyoming Cowboys. Eric also enjoyed motorcycles and was a long time dedicated member of the Moose Lodge in Torrington.
Eric is survived by his half-brother George McGlasson; cousins Trish (Brad) (Reifschneider) Hall of Minatare, Neb., Pam (TJ) (Reifschneider) Martin of Kearney, Neb., Linda (Wallace) (Reifschneider) Rice of Colorado and Christian Reifschneider of Ridgefield, Wash.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and a host of friends, especially his many cherished Moose brothers and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Claire; his father Jack; maternal grandparents Joseph and Mary Duncan; paternal grandparents Carl and Marie Reifschneider; aunt Odelia and Uncle Charlie Reifschneider; aunt Phyllis and uncle Jim Reifschneider; and cousin Rodney
Reifschneider.
