LINGLE – Election Day is quickly approaching in Lingle. Residents can vote on mayor and two council seats Tuesday, May 8 at Lingle Town Hall.
Two residents are vying for mayor, including incumbent George Siglin and challenger Decilla Watson. There are also two individuals seeking to fill two open seats on the council – resident Steve Edwardson and current council member Joe Welte. Incumbent council member Kelly Greenwald will not be seeking reelection.

In other business:
• The council approved Della Watson’s request to keep chickens in town for the third straight year.
“Thank you – my girls send their regards,” Watson said.
• Police Chief Endra Moen reported traffic is beginning to pick up and she anticipates a continued increase as summer approaches.
• Lingle Pool Manager Brandi Hill said staff volunteered at the local Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies food distribution recently. She added she is nearly finished with the hiring process.
• Clerk-Treasurer Michele Sussex stated Lingle’s Arbor Day celebration is Friday, April 27 with a time yet to be determined.
• Maintenance Supervisor Larry Haeffelin announced his department has kept busy working to prepare the pool and sweeping the streets, among other tasks.
• The council agreed to close the Legion Hall until further notice due to safety issues. The town is currently waiting on a report from a local building inspector.
• The next council meeting is Wednesday, May 2 at 5 p.m. at Lingle Town Hall.
