LINGLE – No services will be held at this time for Douglas James Howell, 90, who died Aug. 6, 2019 at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Lingle Fire Department. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
Doug was born July 13, 1929 in Lingle, the son of Richard and Madgel (Usher) Howell. He grew up and received his education in Lingle. After high school he worked for an electrical contractor around the LaGrange area. He married Rose Givens on July 1, 1966 in Lingle. He started work for the Wyrulec Company in Lingle and worked there for forty-six years retiring in 1995.
Doug was a member of the Lingle Fire Department for twenty years and attended the Lingle Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed hunting, camping and watching and coaching baseball and basketball.
Doug is survived by his wife Rose Howell of Lingle; a daughter Sandy Howell of Reno, Nev.; two sons Randall (Jolene) Howell of Torrington and Douglas (Lynn) Howell Jr of Lake Stevens, Wash.; a step-son Gerald (Bonnie) Fisher of Powell; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Helen Patrick.
