DoorDash heading to Torrington

Posted

TORRINGTON – It appears Torrington will have its first national food delivery service in town once Wyoming Ranch Foods completes its contract with the food delivery service DoorDash.

Wyoming Ranch Foods is currently finalizing an agreement with DoorDash out of Denver, Colorado and expects to have the service up and running sometime in the next few weeks.

“We’re currently reading over the contract, so it’s not 100% official yet,” said co-owner Kyle Petersen. “We’ll probably have it all setup and squared away this week and depending on what furthermore they want, it could start in the next few weeks.”

DoorDash is an app where you can place an order from any restaurant or grocery store in a local area that is listed on the app. The business will have their items listed on the website and customers can pick and choose what they want to have delivered to them.

When Petersen decided to reach out to DoorDash about setting up the service, he just put in an inquiry with them and one of the sales representative’s out of Denver, Colo. began working with him and helping with getting the service set up.

“I just put in an inquiry online and one of the sales guys out of Denver reached out,” Petersen said. “There’s some fees associated with it, and he gave us our plan.”

The DoorDash representative told Petersen there are some businesses in the area who currently use the app, so there will be delivery drivers available in the local area to take orders to customers.

Currently, there are no other businesses in Torrington who utilize the DoorDash, so drivers will be coming from the Scottsbluff area. Petersen said he hopes more local restaurants will consider utilizing DoorDash.

“If we could get more businesses (in Torrington) to join, I’m sure that would open up opportunities for a lot of people,” Petersen said.

Wyoming Ranch Foods already does some delivery services right now, but none of those are in the local area. They currently have restaurants in Casper and Wheatland that they deliver to and are hoping to add Cheyenne in the near future.

The big reason Petersen was interested in bringing DoorDash to the area was because people were always asking about a local delivery service, and they never had the employees to be able to meet the demand.

“We always have a constant demand from people wanting delivery,” Petersen said. “We just don’t have the resources or the staff to do it that way. DoorDash has the infrastructure with the app and can make it a lot easier than us trying to handle all that.”
