TORRINGTON – Donald Edwin Beaver, of Torrington passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 27, 2018, at End Time Ministries Church, Torrington. Lunch and internment will follow at the Lingle Cemetery.
Don was born July 21, 1924, in Alliance, Neb., a son of the late Luther and Minnie Swanson. He grew up in Denver, Colo., along with his younger brothers Bob and Leonard. After graduating from high school, he met and married his wife, Audrey Maureen Ford, on July 25, 1945. They were married for 72 years.
Dad worked in the optical business all of his working years, working mainly for Bausch and Lomb Optical Co. and Hewlett Packard.  
He was a talented musician and played many different instruments by ear. He was very active in Church attendance, accepting Jesus as his personal Savior many years ago.
Don is survived by his daughter Janet L. Hackett (Jerry) of Torrington and his son Donald R. Beaver of Greeley, Colo.; Grandchildren Michael Chad Dilka, Christopher Aaron Dilka (Karla), Amber Lyndsey Sauer (Cecil), Rudy James Hackett, Carly Jo Georgen, Raegan Dawn Beaver and Devin Beaver. Great-grandchildren: Madelyn and Sage (Chad); Kylie and Kayla (Aaron); Caleb, Cole, Chase (Amber); Rhylie (Rudy); Aspen and Kade (Carly); Jacob Beaver (Raegan) and several nieces and nephews.
His wife, Audrey, sons Ronald and Kerry, mother and father, and both brothers preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations may be given to The Alzheimer’s and nursing home units in Torringon or the End Time Ministries Church.
