DOUGLAS – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers boys basketball team suffered an opening round loss Thursday at the 1A East Regional Tournament, falling to Hulett 72-61.
The Red Devils came out hot to open the game, taking a 24-13 lead after the first quarter. By halftime, L-FL was down 38-28. After being down 51-39 at the end of the third quarter, the Doggers exploded for 22 points in the fourth, but Hulett added 19 points of its own to secure the win.
The Doggers dropped to the lower bracket, where they will face Normative Services Institute at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in Douglas. The Wolves lost their first game of the tournament against Hanna-Elk Mountain 68-43. The loser between L-FL and NSI is eliminated.
