PINE BLUFFS – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Dogger football saw their two-game winning streak come to an abrupt end on Friday evening in Pine Bluffs.
After picking up wins over Saratoga and Moorcroft in back-to-back weeks, the Doggers fell to the Hornets, 63-6.
Five turnovers – four fumbles and one interception – marred the loss.
After 12 minutes, Pine Bluffs led 28-6.
Freshman Louden Bremer scored the Doggers’ lone touchdown of the game.
Heading into the second quarter, Pine Bluffs scored 35 unanswered points, including 14 in the second and 21 in the fourth quarter.
Bremer led the Doggers with 87 yards rushing on eight carries, while junior Slade Hopkins added 11 yards on 11 attempts. Sophomore quarterback Nolan Spears was 2-for-5 passing for 68 yards. Freshman Kaiden Riggs caught one pass for 64 yards, while Bremer caught the other for four yards.
The Dogger defensive gave up 451 yards of offense to Pine Bluffs, including 340 through the air and 111 on the ground.
The loss eliminated LFL (2-5) from playoff contention, and Lingle looks to wrap up the regular season back in the win column when they host the Greybull Buffaloes (3-4) on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Kirk Field.
