TORRINGTON – Deborah Sue Romig, 58, was ushered into God’s kingdom, on July 29, 2017. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial is planned for Aug. 12, 2 p.m., at All Saints Episcopal Church, Torrington.
Deborah Sue was born on Oct. 14, 1958, to Eugene and Carolyn Santero in Oshkosh, Neb.. Deb met Eric Romig, two years prior to their marriage of July 29, 1978. Both occasions, also in the town of Oshkosh. This union bore three shining lights for Deborah Sue’s heart in 1980, 1982 and 1986. None were accidents, none were planned, all eagerly awaited.
An absolute wizard in the kitchen, Deb’s true passions were children, grandchildren, the spirit of Christmas and girls fast-pitch softball. Behind the smile that could light up a room, a sparkle in her eye and a mischievous giggle, was a woman of virtue, integrity and love.
Deborah Sue relished the bloodline tradition of posing humorous, thought provoking queries to her children and grandchildren, simply to watch them discover the humor and work out a response. The foundation of her family, she will be greatly missed forever.
Deborah Sue is survived by her love of 41 years, Eric. Immediate family, Cory Marie (B.J.) Talera and Traven Kinsey, Coby Jacob (Erin) Kaden and Kohen Romig, Dominick Lee (Sherilyn) Romig. Siblings, Carol (Mike) Marsden, “Jake” (Sharon) Santero, Daniel (Dreema) Santero, Stepsister and brother, Carol and Rick Long. Many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts (especially, Betsy Douma) and cousins. The extended Romig family in-laws and their families. Plus, more friends, and children as second mom, than you can mention.
Deborah Sue was preceded in passing by her mother Carolyn, father Eugene, step mother Marion, brothers Gordon and Terry, fraternal and maternal grandparents and numerous uncles and aunts.
