FORT LARAMIE – Danny D. Garhart, 77, of Fort Laramie, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 15, 2017, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Cheyenne.
Danny was born April 7, 1940, in Lance Creek, a son of Ernest and Margaret (Peterson) Garhart.
Danny served honorably in the United States Army following the end of the Korean War. He worked in the oil business with various companies in a multitude of capacities. He enjoyed conversation and lived by the code of cowboy life.
Danny is survived by his companion, Mary Hort; three children, Cindy Garhart, Lacy (Scott) Goecke and Darren (Kimberly) Garhart; brother, Ed (Louise) Garhart; his former wife, Judy Garhart; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Garhart.
A private family interment in Fort Laramie will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home in Cheyenne.
