CASPER – The Southeast Cyclones fell behind early to Rocky Mountain at the 2A State Tournament this afternoon and failed to make up the difference as the game went on.
The Grizzlies rushed out to a 10-2 to open the game and after the first eight minutes of action were up 16-7. In the second, Rocky Mountain outscored Southeast 18-11 to take a 34-18 halftime advantage.
In the third, Southeast started to make a comeback, cutting the lead to single digits, but by the end of the frame, Rocky Mountain was up 46-35. Rocky Mountain cruised to the 66-44 win.
Southeast fell to the consolation bracket, where it plays Wright tomorrow at 12 p.m. at the Casper Events Center. If the Cyclones fall tomorrow, their season comes to a close.
