Mary Kay consultant earns new ride

Posted

TORRINGTON – Many jobs offer holiday bonuses or big promotions as a reward for hard work and dedication to the company.
In Torrington resident Karen Daily’s career, however, loyal employees earn the chance to receive a new car.
Daily grew up in Cheyenne and moved to Torrington in 2005 to attend Eastern Wyoming College’s cosmetology program. Her desire to spread beauty and confidence soon led her to become an independent sales director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. She celebrates her 12th anniversary with the company on July 30.
“I love meeting new women at facials and makeovers to teach them about skin care and cosmetics without the pressure to purchase anything,” she said. “I also love working with my current customers in the area. I’m so grateful they shop locally with me to support my business.”

Earlier this year, Daily earned the use of a new Chevy Cruze – her third Mary Kay career car – from Masid Chevrolet Co. in Morrill, Neb.
“To earn the car, I found a minimum of 14 women who were interested in starting a Mary Kay business and then my team and I had to work together to reach a sales amount,” she said. “I work with all other actively working Mary Kay consultants in the area. It is definitely a team business working together and encouraging each other, not a business where we compete against
each other.”
Mary Kay’s Career Car Program includes the Chevy Cruze in white, Chevy Equinox crossover in black, Ford Fusion in black and the pearlized pink Cadillac, the signature color to the program, according to a press release from the company.
“Mary Kay has continued to provide a rewarding opportunity selling irresistible products and changing the lives of women around the world for more than 50 years,” said Laura Beitler, vice president of Recognition and Events for Mary Kay Inc. “The use of career cars earned by the independent sales force are just one of the ways our independent beauty consultants are rewarded for their success. We are proud to recognize them for their hard work, entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to their Mary Kay businesses.”
Since the Career Car Program began in 1969, more than 157,000 independent sales force members have qualified or re-qualified to earn the use of a Mary Kay career car. Currently there are more than 5,000 Mary Kay career cars are on the road nationwide.
Locally, Daily’s passion for the beauty business and penchant for sales suggests this won’t be the last time she earns a new car through Mary Kay.
“My future goals include teaching more women how to successfully build their Mary Kay business at the part-time and full-time levels,” Daily said. “I love working with them as a life coach while watching them learn to love the girl in the mirror, become financially free and have fun at the same time.”
