Republican Women annual meeting
GOSHEN COUNTY – The Goshen County Republican Women’s group will host its regular meeting at noon today (Friday, Oct. 19) at Deacon’s Restaurant, Main Street, in Torrington.
Guest speaker for the meeting will be someone from the Goshen County Search and Rescue team.
This will be the group’s annual meeting, with membership dues to be paid.
Vet Tech hosting vaccination clinic
at Waggin’ Tails
TORRINGTON – The Eastern Wyoming College Veterinary Technology Club is partnering with Waggin’ Tails Shelter and Goshen Veterinary Clinic for a vaccination clinic which will be held on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the shelter, 980 E. 11th Avenue, in Torrington. Walk-ins only, no appointment is necessary.
Services offered for this clinic include:
Vaccinations: $15 each
Rabies
Parvo/Distemper Combo
Bordatella (Kennel Cough)
Felocell (cats).
Nail trim: $10
Microchipping: $25
Torrington City Licenses: $5 or $10
Please come in and take care of the paperwork first before bringing in the animals.

Trunk or Treat for Halloween
TORRINGTON – Businesses, Torrington Police Department and the Goshen County Chamber of Commerce will host a Trunk or Treat event again this year for Halloween.
Trunk or Treat is scheduled for 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, on Main Street in Torrington. Businesses are invited to decorate and hand out treats as local families circulate around the downtown area. Businesses located outside the downtown area who wish to participate may call the Chamber at 532-3879 for additional details.
Two programs coming to History Center
LINGLE – Two programs coming to the Western History Center west of Lingle will focus on Native American history across the region.
The first will have National Park Service Ranger Joe Reasner from the Fort Laramie National Historic Site on Oct. 25. Reasner will share some of the perspective on the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1968.
Retired Wyoming State Archeologist and Western History Center Director George Zeimens was originally scheduled to present a program on the history of the POWARS II archeological site at Sunrise, north of Guernsey. His program has been moved to Nov. 15.
Both programs will begin at 7 p.m. at the Center, located 5 miles west of Lingle on U.S. Hwy. 26.
Fort Laramie Halloween
FORT LARAMIE – The town of Fort Laramie will host its annual Halloween Party, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Community Center near downtown.
Games will be 25-cents a play and free hotdogs will be served to all. Anyone donating a canned good will receive five free game tickets. The afternoon will also feature a cake walk, Hokey Pokey dance and pumpkin decorating contest.
Free breakfast to honor veterans
GOSHEN COUNTY – First Wyoming Presbyterian Church in Torrington and Community Presbyterian Church in Lingle will host a special Salute to All Veterans breakfast starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Torrington church.
Veterans and their families are invited to enjoy pancakes and bacon, provided in part by Main Street Grocery in Torrington. Following breakfast, guests will be invited to join congregations of both churches in a special 11 a.m. worship service.
“Our congregations look forward to this special Sunday as a way of thanking our service members. We hope that they know that they are always welcome at our churches,” said the Rev. Bruce McBurney, pastor of both churches.
