Farmers Market opens
FORT LARAMIE – The annual Fort Laramie Farmers Market will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays at the Log Cabin Information Center on U.S. Hwy. 26 here.
There will be plenty of lawn games, friends to visit and, perhaps, a surprise or two throughout the seasons, Jennifer Lanier said. All items for sale at the market are home grown, produced or made.

Hawk Springs hamburger fry
HAWK SPRINGS – The second hamburger fry of the summer is set for 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, here at the Hawk Springs Community Center.
Also on the board will be salads, baked beans, hot dogs and an assortment of desserts. Meal tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children aged six to 11. Children younger than six eat free.
Hawk Springs Summer Hamburger Fries provide the main source of revenue for maintenance of the Community Building throughout the year.

Right to Life meeting
TORRINGTON – Irma Vallejo from Cheyenne will be guest speaker for the regular meeting of Goshen County Right to Life, set for 6 p.m. Monday, July 17, in the Brand Room at the Rendezvous Center on the Goshen County Fairgrounds.

Vacation Bible School
Happy Trails: The West of the Story
TORRINGTON – First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church, All Saints Episcopal Church, Torrington United Methodist Church, and Lingle Community Presbyterian Church invite young people from the community to their Vacation Bible School next week
in Torrington.
First Wyoming United Presbyterian will be the host site for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade from 9 a.m. to noon, July 18 – 21. The church is located at 2972 Main St. in Torrington.
Cowboys and Cowgirls will enjoy this Western themed VBS as they gather at God’s Country Opening, eat at the Chuck Wagon, play Round Up Rodeo Games, make crafts at the Log Cabin and sing at Cowboy Serenade.

Families are invited to the evening campfire dinner at, Monday to Friday at 6 p.m., with community carry-in of sides and dessert. A community sing-a-long will follow the meal Monday to Thursday.

Zavorka family reunion
TORRINGTON – The Zavorka Family reunion will be held on July 22 at the St. Rose Parish Hall in Torrington. Anyone wishing to join us for the Polka Dance and visitors are welcome after 8 p.m.

Smart Driver course to be offered
TORRINGTON ­– The Torrington Senior Friendship Center will host a Smart Driver course from the AARP on Aug. 14.
Times for the course will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Senior Center in Torrington. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.

Comedy Night set Aug. 25
TORRINGTON – The public is invited to the Rendezvous Center on Friday, Aug. 25, for the 17th annual Comedy Night, hosted by the Community Healthcare Foundation.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for a night of beer tasting, hor d’oeuvres, games, auctions, raffles and entertainment. North Carolina comedian Allan Goodwin will be the featured entertainer for
the evening.
Proceeds of the event benefit the Community Healthcare Foundation for needed equipment in the local healthcare community.
