Tech tutoring session

LINGLE – Students from Lingle-Fort Laramie High School will host a Technology Tutoring session for seniors, 11:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at the Lingle Senior Friendship Center.

Spring book sale set

TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Public Library Foundation will host its annual Spring Book Sale, through April 13, at the Library Annex, 2017 East A St., in Torrington.

A wide selection of books is available as the popular Bag Sale closes out the annual event, from April 13.

Sale hours will be Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Perkins sessions set

TORRINGTON – Eastern Wyoming College will host three listening sessions, sponsored by the Wyoming Department of Education, to talk about the Perkins V program in the state

Listening sessions will be hosted in Tebbet Room 131 at the college on Thursday, April 11. Session times will be 9 – 11 a.m., 1 – 3 p.m. and 5:30 – 7 p.m. Input is sought as WDE moves forward to develop the next, five-year funding plan.

Second grade musical

TORRINGTON – The second graders of Lincoln Elementary invite you to “It’s a Hit!” – a musical that reminds us of the wonderful lessons the game of baseball has to offer. Join them on Thursday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Torrington High School auditorium as music education meets America’s favorite pastime

North Platte water meeting set

TORRINGTON – A meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, April 11, in the Brand Room at the Goshen County Fairgrounds Rendezvous Center in Torrington with Bureau of Reclamation representatives to discuss snowmelt runoff forecasts, reservoir operations for water year 2019 and more has been cancelled due to a forecast winter storm expected to move through the area Wednesday.

The meeting will not be rescheduled, according to the Bureau of Reclamation. Information that was to be presented at the meeting will be posted online.

Easter egg hunt rescheduled

LAGRANGE – LaGrange-Bear Creek Unity Library will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the large City Park by the Fire Hall for Toddlers through sixth grade. This is one week earlier than previous years.

The age groups will be separated and there will be new grand prizes. Parents may assist toddlers.  Bunny Snacks and Story Time will follow. If the weather is bad, the hunt will be at the Library.   Sponsored by LGBC Unity Library, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 70 and Kiwanis of Goshen County.

Easter Cantata set

TORRINGTONBody of Christ is the title of the upcoming Community Easter Cantata, coming later this month.

Written by Pepper Choplin, performances are scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, April 14 and 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, at First Wyoming Presbyterian Church, 2972 Main St. in Torrington. An additional performance will be at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, at Lifeway Church, 1341 E M St., in Torrington. 

Narrators for the Cantata this year will be Julie Newman and Grant Jones. Joyce Willeke will direct the Cantata choir.

All performances are free and open to the public.

Church to host Passover Seder

YODER – South Goshen Community Church will host a Passover Seder, scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Community Center in Yoder.

Seder is a traditional meal, marking the start of Passover, commemorating the exodus of the Jews out of Egyptian slavery. The menu consists of wine, vegetables dipped in saltwater, the flat, cracker-like bread, or matzah, and bitter herbs dipped in a past of nuts, apples, pears and wine, known as charoset. The traditional Seder observance also includes a variety of reading, storytelling and singing.

PEO hosts Parade of Tables

TORRINGTON – Hats off to Mothers is the theme of the sixth annual PEO Parade of Tables, set for Saturday, May 11, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Social Hall of St. Rose Catholic Church, 620 E. 22nd Ave., in Torrington.

The day will feature afternoon tea, with seating at any of 30 tables, set with family heirlooms, personal treasure, holiday memories and more. Anyone interested in designing one of the tables may contact Donna Cay at (307) 532-3222. Raffle tickets will also be available for $1 for a chance at a 50/25/25 drawing.

Tickets are now on sale at $18 each. Contact Farm Girls Boutique, 2042 Main St., or Nita Gable, (307) 532-5257, for tickets.
