Yee Haw Daze this weekend
TORRINGTON – Come and get your holiday shopping done early this weekend with the annual Yee Haw Daze Fall Market, set for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6-7, at the Ag Hall on the Goshen County Fairgrounds.
The event features vintage and rustic refurbished furniture, jewelry and crafters of all kinds. A variety of home-based businesses will be on hand, exhibiting their wares.
A special feature will be a Sip-N-Paint event, hosted by Table Mountain Vineyards, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday evening in the Brand Room at the fairgrounds. There will also be do-it-yourself demonstrations Friday at 4 p.m. and again Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Brand Room.
Hours for the event are Friday 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Life Chain event set
TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Right to Life group will host a Life Chain event from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 26-85 in Torrington.
The group will pray in honor of unborn babies, mothers, fathers and families. Prayers will also be offered for “the abortionists, nurses and all those involved in taking the life of the unborn,” according to a press release.

UM Women host rummage sale
TORRINGTON – The women’s group of the United Methodist Church in Torrington will host their annual rummage sale, set for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6-7, at the church, located at 2702 Main Street.
Hours are Friday 8 a.m. to 12 noon and Saturday 8 to 11 a.m.

Rummage sale set
TORRINGTON – The Friendship Senior Center in Torrington will host its annual fall rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the center, located at 1833 East A Street in Torrington. Lunch will be available along with a variety of gently used items for sale.

Basic Self-Defense for Women class
TORRINGTON – The Community Education Department at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington will host a Basic Self-Defense class for Women later this month.
This class will be from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday Oct. 12. Cost for the training will be $20.
This class is designed to increase personal awareness of surrounding, reducing the chance of walking unawares into compromising situations at home, in a parking lot or while exercising. Basic defensive techniques will be demonstrated with opportunities to practice.
For individuals who’ve taken this or similar classes in the past, this provides an opportunity to either refresh or hone existing skills.

Episcopal Church rummage sale
TORRINGTON – All Saint’s Episcopal Church will host its annual rummage sale, 8 a.m. to noon Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 – 14, at the church, 2601 Main St. in Torrington.

Flu clinics set
GOSHEN COUNTY – Public health officials have announced several flu inoculation clinics set for October around the county.
Prime flu season in the state starts in late December and continues through May. Goshen County Public Health has the most current, quadravalent flu vaccines in stock, which may prevent infection or reduce the risk of complications if people do get sick.
Flu clinics will be:
n Monday, Oct. 2 – 10:30 – 11 a.m. at LaGrange Senior Center; 1 – 2 p.m. at Yoder Senior Center;
n Tuesday, Oct. 3 – 9 – 11 a.m. at Lingle Senior Center; 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Ft. Laramie Senior Center;
n Thursday, Oct. 5 – 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Torrington Senior Center, and;
n Friday, Oct. 6 – Goshen County Public Health.
Open clinics will be offered from 8 –10 am. At the Goshen County Public Health office, 2025 Campbell Drive, Suite No. 1, in Torrington, as vaccine is available.
Medicare recipients are requested to bring their cards with them when receiving vaccination. Costs of inoculations not billed to Medicare is $30, payable at time of service. Receipts will be given, which may be turned in to insurance carrier or employer.

Something for everyone
TORRINGTON – First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church in Torrington will host its fall rummage sale, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 – 14, at the church, located at 2972 Main Street.
Hours are 8 a.m. to noon on Friday and 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. The event is hosted by the Presbyterian Women group at the church.
