HAWK SPRINGS – It’s burger time again in Hawk Springs.
Beef and more will be on the grill from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the Hawk Springs Community Center for the final monthly Burger Fry of the season. Entertainment will be provided by the
Torrington Fiddlers.
A special treat for the August burger fry will be seven flavors of homemade ice cream. That’s along with the regular offerings of salads, baked beans, hot dogs and assortment of other

desserts.
Salads and desserts are donated by residents of the area.
Cost for the feed is $7 for adults and $3 for children aged 11 years and younger. Children younger than six years eat free.
Tickets for the 50-50 drawing will also be on sale at $1 each of six for $5. Drawing for the winner from the combined ticket sales at the three summer hamburger fries will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Summer Hamburger Fries provide the primary source of revenue for maintenance and upkeep of the historic Community Building throughout the year. Proceeds also permit the community to make the building available at a reasonable cost for family reunions, graduation parties and other
activities.
Hawk Springs Community Building is also one of the few area facilities boasting a stage for musical or theatrical performance with a sound system.
