CASPER – The Torrington High School golf team had a strong showing in Casper on Tuesday against a loaded field of 4A schools.
“In a tough, loaded 4A field, I thought our kids competed very well and had some of their best performances,” THS coach Jeff Halley said.
Gage Gibson led the Blazer boys with a 1-over-par 72 to finish sixth. Braeden Reid was just outside the top 10 with a 78, and Caleb Kelly finished with an 81. Mason Wilkes ended the day with a 91, while Conner Correll shot a 102.
In the girls’ division, the Lady Blazers were “just as solid,” Halley said.
Madyson Banister shot an 84 to place ninth. Kaleigh Waymire shot a 104, and Sarah Birdsall fired a 105. Kaylee Pittman shot a 122, while Grace Kelly had a round of 124.
“Both teams shot their lowest team scores in years,” Halley said.
Torrington wraps up the spring season at Wheatland on Friday, May 12.
